So Why has the Director of Building Inspection for Leon County raised Solar Permitting Fees? Permits for Solar are addressed in the NEC, But Leon County wants to increase fees by permitting Solar under Remodeling and Repair. The Director says code requires a building permit for solar, NOT TRUE. Permits in The City of Tallahassee cost $80, but the County is now charging $683 for a 5KW 30,000 System, more if the consumer paid more. Fees being based on Cost of System now. They say their fees are in line with other counties, clearly Not True.
